"WASH DAY"

So yesterday was my “Wash Day.” This is usually an ALL DAY process which entails pre-treating my hair before washing, wash with Terressentials hair mud, condition, detangle, deep treatment, condition once again, and then lastly my herbal hair rinse and leave in treatment. Yesterday I decided I wanted to do some "Heatless Curls" using my Curlformers (which I LOVE btw) so I shortened my hair washing process as the Curlformers take some time to “install.” I did not have much time to make my own hair recipes so I used some organic hair products in my closet. Here was my hair regimen yesterday.

1)      Terressentials Organics Pure Earth Hair Wash Organic Lavender Garden (I do not use shampoo to wash my hair)
I massaged the mud in my scalp and hair in sections and then put a plastic cap over my hair to steam for 20 minutes. This is to ensure I get out any excess buildup of oils/products I used over the past 2 weeks.
** I get this online for $19.50 for 16 oz. Click here for link to the website:  http://www.terressentials.com/haircare.html

2)      Steam with my stand up Salon Steamer.
Steaming opens up the clogged pores of your scalp, therefore providing your hair with nourishment/moisture and strengthening the roots of your hair. The steaming process stimulates those hair follicles which can aid in hair growth. It improves blood flow in the scalp and encourages penetration of moisture. When the hair shaft /pores are open, the hair is able to easily absorb more water and/or treatments.

**After steaming my hair, my detangling process was cut down to just 20 minutes!!!!**

3)      I killed 2 birds with 1 stone and applied a deep conditioning treatment by John Masters Organics (Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructorto detangle my hair and then went back under my steamer with the conditioner in for 20 minutes. The steaming process allows maximum penetration of the reconstructor.  After steaming, I washed out the conditioner.

**A bit pricey. I bought it online for $28.00 for 4 fl oz. I believe they sell it at Fairway Market as well. **

4)      Homemade Hair Rinse
I made a homemade herbal hair rinse with herbs from my cupboard (Stay tuned for the recipes!!) and poured it over/massaged it in my hair and scalp.

5)      Giovanni Organics Direct Leave-In Weightless Moisture Leave In Treatment
I applied this as a leave in treatment. Then I sectioned my hair into 10 big 2-strand twists to prepare for my Curlformers installation.
**You can get this at Walgreens or Target. It is about $9.00 for a 8.5 fl oz bottle.**

6) For each section of my hair, I sprayed a bit of Aloe Vera Gel, then applied avocado butter, lastly, sealed with Shea Moisture Organic Curl and Style Milk.

**You can get this at Target, Duane Reade, Walgreens, CVS. I usually pay $10.99 for 8 fl oz.**

Please feel free to leave any feedback, questions, or comments and I will gladly respond.

Stay tuned as I will post my Curlformers before and after pics and my experience putting them in this time around.
